id=\"Characteristics_of_organic_wines\"><\/span>Characteristics of organic wines<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For a wine to be considered organic, it must comply with certain parameters that determine its term. <strong>These characteristics are: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The use of herbicides, pesticides or chemical fungicides is not allowed in the process.<\/li>\n<li>Organic wines are made from late harvests, which allows grapes to be harvested at a later stage of ripening.<\/li>\n<li>Fertilizers made from strictly natural products of animal or vegetable origin must be used.<\/li>\n<li>The process of planting and harvesting the grapes is strictly manual, so the use of machinery is prohibited.<\/li>\n<li>The use of sulfites in winemaking has a strict limit that must be complied with, otherwise it is not considered an organic wine.<\/li>\n<li>The use of tartaric acid from the vines themselves is permitted to control acidity.<\/li>\n<li>Organic wine must have a maximum of 4 gr\/liter of residual sugar.<\/li>\n<li>The use of glass containers and natural cork is recommended.<\/li>\n<li>Stubble cannot be burned to
