1.- Hofbräu München Münchner Weisse beer

It is a German wheat beer brewed since 1589, it is an Ale type of high fermentation but with a style typical of Munich.

It has a nice cloudy golden color, fruity flavor in which the stone fruit stands out, giving it a refreshing flavor and making it the perfect ally to accompany salty foods.

This beer has an alcohol content of 5.1% which makes it a very refreshing drink.

2.- Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier Beer

It is a traditional German wheat beer, brewed by the oldest brewery in the world. It is of the Ale type, has a bright blond color with abundant clear foam which persists and as the minutes pass it releases its aromas.

This beer respects the German Purity Law of 1516, so it is brewed only with water, malt and hops. It can accompany any dish with which you wish to enjoy as well as being very refreshing thanks to its alcohol content of 5.4%.

3.- Erdinger Kristall Beer

A German beer brewed by the world’s largest wheat brewery, this lovely beer owes its crystalline appearance to a particularly long filtration process, known in the industry as fine filtration, so it becomes completely clear.

It has a light blond color with white foam, abundant and of medium duration, and is brewed with wheat and malt barley.

During fermentation the yeast strains rise to the surface forming a white layer. It has an alcohol content of 5.3% and a sparkling and very refreshing character that makes it perfect for summer days.

4.- Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Aecht beer

It is a German beer brewed by Schlenkeria, a brewery founded in 1405 and located in Bamberg. It is a dark smoked, aromatic, bottom-fermented beer with the original extract of 13.5 percent which gives it an alcohol content of 5.1%.

Its smoky flavor is achieved by exposing the malt to the intense, aromatic smoke of burning beechwood embers. It is then suitably blended and matured in the 600-year-old cellars in the hills of Bamberg.

5.- Kapuziner Weissbier Hefe beer

This is a German beer brewed by one of the largest craft breweries in the region called Kulmbacher. It is a top-fermented ale brewed with wheat malt and a special unfiltered yeast.

It has a golden to orange color with a lot of turbidity, its solid malt body and fruity flavor gives it interesting nuances that make it one of the most refreshing beers in the world. It has an alcohol content of 5.4% which invites you to keep tasting it continuously.

6.- Paulaner Salvator Doppelbock Beer

It is a German beer with an alcohol content of 7.4% which makes it a strong drink, brewed by the Paulaner brewery in Munich, it has a dark amber color with orange and somewhat darker tones, with a huge layer of creamy, attractive foam of great persistence and smooth texture.

This German beer has a complex and deeply malty aroma, with notes of cereals, roasted malt, butter and candied fruit accompanied by delicate floral notes. Its sweet malt flavor accompanied by hints of toffee, currants, plums and toasted bread make it a real delight.

7.- Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock Beer

This German beer is recognized as legendary. It is a type of beer obtained by freezing part of the water during its preparation and eliminating it afterwards, which makes it a very concentrated beer, with body, flavor and high alcohol content of around 12%.

It has an almost black mahogany color, its aroma is reminiscent of ripe plums with a touch of bitter almonds and marzipan. It is an ideal beer to accompany great dishes and desserts with chocolate.

8.-Bischofshof Hefe-Weissbier Hell Beer

It is a Weissbier beer brewed by Bischofshof in Regensburg, Bavaria. It has a slightly orange-yellow color, cloudy with dense, abundant and fluffy foam.

Its slightly acidic fruity aroma makes it a delight, while its creamy taste with soft and refreshing acidic touches gives it the perfect touch to enjoy. This German beer has an alcohol content of 5.1%.

9.- Gaffel Kölsch Beer

This is a refreshing and light German beer brewed in the city of Kölsch and its surroundings. It has a golden blond crystalline color, with a medium carbonation that causes a white and creamy foam.

When tasted, it has a malty aroma accompanied by floral notes and hops. Its malty flavor and light bitter notes make it refreshing, ideal to combat hot days.

10- Warsteiner Premium Verum Beer

It is perhaps the least known German beer outside Germany, its production dates back to 1753, it is a pilsner beer of 4.8% alcohol content, it has a light golden color with white foam.

This beer has a mild aroma with hop essences mixed with certain notes of lemon and some malt. When tasting it, semi-sweet notes can be appreciated with a certain flavor of banana and clove, to then give way to a more bitter but pleasant flavor. It is an ideal beer to accompany seafood and soft and creamy cheeses.

German beer is part of an ancient tradition, which dates back to 1645 according to some historians, and it seems that the Mer was the typical drink of the tribes, a traditional fermented brew known as divine nectar.

The Germans used aromatic herbs and field plants before learning about hops, thus achieving a lighter beer with a shorter shelf life, which made it unsuitable for transport.

During the 12th century, King John Primus, known as Gambrinus, fought hunger in his kingdom by cultivating barley, which gave a great impulse to beer brewing in the region.

A tradition that is maintained through time

By the Middle Ages, Germany had more than 500 beer producers and marketers, which made it the most widely used beverage within the country as wine consumption was forbidden during Lent.

In 1516 a law enacted by William IV, called the Purity Law, ruled that beer could only be produced with malted barley, yeast, hops and water, and this law was later extended to the entire German empire in 1906.

The law was implemented when it was realized that the use of some herbs was dangerous, and at the same time it was intended to veto the use of wheat, a cereal that can also be malted, because the rulers wanted the wheat harvest to be used to make bread to feed the population.

At present, the law provides exceptions for the so-called special beers, which can include spices or fruits, but does not allow in any case the use of aromas, colorants, stabilizers, enzymes, emulsifiers or preservatives, which the European standard does authorize in several cases.

Consequently, Germany kept its beer production as a standard and today remains a great beer consuming country and thanks to its well-known breweries we can enjoy this delicious liquid throughout the world, demonstrating with its variety and flavor why they are a nation with such an important tradition.
